The meals-on-wheels program provides 250 meals each year to qualifying homebound seniors throughout Beauregard Parish and we are proud to partner with United Way for this program. We are also supported through monthly donations from Grace Church's Loaves & Fishes Ministry and Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville. Meals are delivered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The meal deliveries also give our route drivers the chance to complete a wellness check for these vulnerable seniors. In 2021, we served over 36,000 Meals-on-Wheels to Beauregard Parish seniors.
The congreagate meal service is a daily lunch served at two locations in DeRidder. The congregate meal time allows seniors to visit, play cards, and have a hot, nutritious meal together with other seniors. In 2021, we served over 11,000 congregate meals to our seniors. Please call ahead to make a reservation for this service.
The transportation service provides rides at no cost for seniors to go to doctor appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other stops that provide for the basic needs of seniors. The caregiver respite & sitter service provides 96 hours of in-home care to a qualifying caregiver. A caregiver is someone who resides with a senior and provides 24 hour care to that senior. In 2021, we provided over 1,800 hours of respite care for our seniors through our partnership with Companion Care.

The visitation program was created in 2003 through our partnership with the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office Senior Care Unit. The goal of the program is to provide deputies with the opportunity to make personal visits with Beauregard Parish senior citizens at their residences in an effort to address the seniors’ safety, security and general well-being. Our current deputies are: Billy Spikes, Dewey Wright, and Ebbie Perkins. In 2021, these deputies provided over 600 wellness checks to our seniors.
